One of the most famous tourist attractions in Bhor is the Bhatghar dam. It is a huge masonry gravity dam built by the British in 1927 on the
Yelwandi (Velvandi) river. The lake created behind the dam is known as Bhatghar lake or Bhatghar backwaters and is one of the most scenic lakes
in Pune district. The vast expanses of still water which reflects the azure blue sky and the fluffy white clouds are a real treat to the eyes, add to that
the calm of the surrounding hills and jungles and you have a perfect spot to relax or indulge in a picnic. The backwater of the dam are accessible
from a number of places such as Narhe, Gorad Mhasavali, Wadhane and Sangamner. These places offer a peaceful spot to just sit and gaze at the
blue waters or maybe even a little angling is also a good idea. Another iconic spot in the area is the Necklace Point at Ingavali.

The Nira and Gunjavani rivers meet and create a horse shoe river bend which looks like a necklace from afar. The gentle rolling hills are a nice
place to enjoy with family and friends while looking out towards the river. Another nearby attraction is the Urja Park at Kenjal. It is an energy park
which has a number of installed devices which are of interest to kids as well as engineering enthusiasts.

Apart from the Bhatghar dam, there is another dam by the name Neera Devghar or Nira Deoghar. This earthfill dam is built on the Nira river for
providing irrigation water to the surrounding areas, the vicinity of the dam is calm and peaceful and a good place to unwind. About 62 km away
from Pune is Basarapur, just beside the Bhatghar dam. The area is scenic and added attraction is the Adventure Plus resort and Park which is a
great place to indulge in some fun rides and adventure sports. If you happen to visit the Bhor area then make it a point not to miss Varanda Ghat.
Also called Varandh Ghat, it is actually a mountain pass which links Bhor to Mahad and is one of the routes between Pune and Konkan. Besides
being an important route, Varanda Ghat is one of the most beautiful ghat areas around Pune. The narrow winding roads along the steep mountain
sides offer some exceptional views of the Sahyadris. During monsoon the area is carpeted in velvety green grass and a number of gushing
waterfalls which make it all the more beautiful, making an ideal picnic spot. During monsoon, the Sangavi Vekho waterfall is also worth visiting.
