The 46th UNESCO World Heritage Meeting held at the majestic  Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from July 21 to July 31, 2024, was a remarkable convergence of culture, heritage, and Technology. Inaugurated by the Hon’ble  PM, Shri  Narendra Modit provided a unique platform to showcase India’s rich cultural tapestry through an expansive exhibition center dedicated to tourism, arts, crafts, dances, and an array of stalls representing the diverse state tourism boards of India.

Among the highlights of the recent UNESCO World Heritage Committee Meeting in New Delhi was the Madhya Pradesh tourism pavilion, where TellMe showcased a groundbreaking Virtual Reality (VR) experience. This immersive 150 seconds- film focused on the Great Stupa of Sanchi, one of India’s admired Heritage sites. The VR tour captivated delegates, senior archaeologists, and high-ranking officials from the Government of India, effectively demonstrating TellMe’s commitment to providing cultural heritage experiences through the VR technology. Our collaboration with the Department of Tourism of Madhya Pradesh underscores our dedication to promoting India’s rich heritage on international platforms.

VR Tech enabled  visitors to explore the grandeur and historical significance of the Sanchi Stupa in a way that traditional media cannot match. The film was showcased through VR headset.The VR experience was appreciated by viewers including dignataries accolades, including:

      • Mr. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of Tourism and Culture, Government of India
      • Mr. Dharmendra Singh Lodhi, Minister of Tourism, Madhya Pradesh
      • Mr. Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Principal secretary, Madhya Pradesh Tourism
      • Mr. Temjen Along, Minister of Tourism and Culture, Nagaland
      • UNESCO World heritage committee members
      • Leadership team of Archaeological Survey of India, Government of India
      • Other International Dignitaries and key media houses. The experience garnered significant attention and was covered extensively in the Digital India programme and social media handles.

Adding to the event’s international appeal, Japanese influencer @Mayojapan experienced the VR tour and shared her impressions on Instagram, further enhancing the global reach of the project IG.
